Elmo's Magic Numbers DVD review and giveaway!

Brayden and I got to review a brand new DVD from Warner Home Video. They released Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers on DVD on July 10, 2012 for $12.99.

“Up All Night”star Will Arnett makes special guest appearance in this hilarious
new DVD that promotes math.

About the DVD:

Now in its 42nd season, Sesame Street is the longest-running program in children’s television. The series has received more Emmy awards than any other show in television history (138), as well as a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award honoring the 40th year.

In this awesome DVD Elmo, Big Bird, Zoe and Rosita learn the importance behind counting, numbers and early math skills. This DVD contains two full-length Sesame Street episodes with over two hours of content including bonus footage, celebrity appearances and spoofs!

In Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers, Will Arnett (Arrested Development, Up All Night) plays Max the Magician and visits Sesame Street to put on a spectacular magic show for Elmo and his friends.  As the crowd watches in amazement, Chris points out that Max’s magic is actually based on match concepts that everyone can learn. Each hilarious lesson highlights a different aspect of the subject, including addition and subtraction.  The episode also includes favorite segments such as “Elmo’s World,” “Murray Had A Little Lamb” and “Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures.”

The second Sesame Street episode “Hat Day” features Elmo and Zoe’s wacky contest to see who can wear the most hats! During this episode, kids are encouraged to count, estimate and use multiples as they seek to crown a winner of the challenge. Parents can also get in on the action during a hilarious, counting-themed spoof of NBC’s hit show 30 Rock entitled “30 Rocks.” A 15-minute extra of “Elmo’s World” about hats is also included on the DVD.

As an added bonus, each unit contains a special offer from the Personalized Elmo Friends CD.  Kids will delight in hearing their name spoken and sung by Elmo in three free customized tracks. SO cool!

What we thought of the DVD:
We loved it! It entertained Brayden very well. He danced and even repeated a lot of the words and numbers he heard. Even though he doesn't know math yet he really enjoyed this DVD. I love having educational programs for him to watch. He will definitely be watching this more in the future and maybe even learn some numbers! This DVD would be absolutely perfect for a child 4 and up. They would be able to interact a little more than Brayden's age group. I also love that it comes with free music. That's great for kids of all ages! You should buy this DVD for your kids or maybe for another child's birthday. This would make a perfect gift. You can also enter our giveaway below!
