"A Child Learns to Read on Someone’s Lap"
"To give your child a book is to give them the world"
I absolutely agree. Brayden gets read to everyday. He loves being read to, loves looking at books, and loves telling you what the objects in the books are. I want Lincoln to be the same way. Brayden didn't have many plush books. He mostly had small board books that he chewed/messed up when he was younger. I was looking online and found a company called Wacka Doodle Books. Their website is designed to help family and friends choose quality children's books that are pre-screened by reading specialists for a "head start on learning". My absolute FAVORITE thing about their site is you can set up a registry so everyone can see what books your child wants. I love that! It would be great to set up for birthdays, baby showers or Christmas/holidays. I am setting one up for Linc's first birthday. They have books for newborns up to young adults. Something for everyone! They sent me one of their amazing gift baskets. I was sent the "squish" basket. They have so many different baskets that are perfect for baby shower gifts! The baskets start at $45 and there are many to choose from. Their books are around $4.99 and up. Great prices!
Brayden loved looking at this book in the bath. He liked how shiny the fins are. I like the ape wash mitt but I do wish it was thicker. I think for the amount of cost for the basket, it was a little thin. I do like it and use it to wash Lincoln. He usually coos at the ape. Haha.
I love the Taggie book. It shows every animal awake and asleep. Plus, the book is extremely soft and has ribbons for Lincoln to touch when he gets older. The Fuzzy Bee book crinkles and has lots of fun textures for infants to explore.
I use the basket to hold Linc's books in his room right now until he gets much more.
We are really impressed by Wacka Doodle Books. I think everyone should go on there right now, browse, buy, make a registry and enjoy reading to your kids! Their books are affordable and there are A TON to choose from!
Thank you for the kind review! You have captured our intent perfectly. The feedback regarding the washcloth mitt is valuable that I will share with our Basket Lady, Bobbi. She loves shopping so this gives her a purpose.
ReplyDeleteAs a bit of explanation, we incorporate our shipping costs into the basket price with no wiggle room. The outcome of that though makes our baskets appear slightly more expensive relative to others'.
We appreciate your interest and wish "Happy reading and listening" to you, your family and your followers.

Of course! I love the basket!
ReplyDeleteThat makes a lot of sense. You are all doing an amazing job! I will certainly be setting up a registry.
Thank you!
nice books... great for the bath, like that idea thanks for the review
ReplyDeleteI believe that too! Children gain so much from being read to. I can see it in my older children. Even my struggling reader loves books because we read to her since she was a baby and she knows books are amazing. My four month old baby girl loves Taggie toys and we got her a Taggie book for Christmas. It's her favorite book. I love that this service allows you to pick books and share your choices with people. When I ask my ILs for books they always get books I don't care for. It'd be great to have a way to point them to some good books. :)
ReplyDeleteHOw awesome a book registry! I must try! Luv that they r affordable. Thx for sharing ;0)
ReplyDeleteI love that these are waterproof too! So nice to be able to wash them easily too
