Hugo the happy starfish: The Secret to Happiness by Suzy Liebermann review!

Brayden has always loved being read to. He's always loved looking through books by himself. So, when we got the chance to review a HUGO the happy starfish book I was really excited! Hugo is a little starfish with a BIG HEART. His passion is to make others happy but he still has many things to learn. Fortunately he has more than just a big heart, he also has a CURIOUS MIND. Through his adventures, Hugo learns many valuable lessons of character, life skills, and ecological alertness, all against the colorful backdrop of a magical underwater world and mystical islands. Believing that happiness can be learned, feelings can be understood, and that building character based on a positive attitude leads to a happy, content, successful and confident human being, Suzy Liebermann has written this charming series of children’s books to help educate children about their feelings, their attitudes, their choices, and the consequences that follow. In Hugo, children, parents, and educators will discover a lovable and engaging role model.

Suzy Liebermann is a native of Germany and former resident of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the Islands of the Bahamas and Switzerland. She is now living in the USA. She has traveled the world in pursuit of language, art, and culture. Having found it, she now shares it with the world’s teachers, parents, and children through educational literature. Leveraging her decades of global experience teaching in German, Spanish, French, and English with a degree in foreign language translation and a master’s degree in business management and international business, she launched Happy Language Kids Publications in 2010 as an interactive language learning program for children and their young-at-heart elders. She has always had a love for teaching and helping others. Being able to share the wisdom of the right attitude through her stories gave her life a new goal to make a difference in the world. She wants to help others be happy and I think that is really amazing!

I asked him where the mad starfish was, the happy star fish and etc. He was able to point to the correct one each time. I didn't know he could do that!

I love that it teaches some Spanish in this book!

What we thought: We love the Hugo book we received. It has bright, colorful illustrations, and a good positive message. I think these books would be amazing for kids who will understand the lessons. I know Brayden will soon enough. For now he loves the pictures and loves being read the story. He made me read him the book like 5 times in a row. Haha. He enjoyed pointing out everything I was reading and telling me about the starfish/characters in the book. It's safe to say that Hugo will be a good part of his book collection. I am going to get many more of these books. The lessons are perfect for children. Suzy has written Hugo books on bullying, self esteem, and much more! We recommend this series to everyone! They are great reads for all children.

You can find books, shirts, and much more Hugo stuff in the store. The books are around $15.95. You can also find the books on Amazon for your Kindle for under $5. What a great deal! Follow Hugo on Facebook for all news on Hugo!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
