Remember doing little surveys like this? My friends and I used to fill them out constantly in high school on Live Journal and MySpace. Haha.
1. When did you first start blogging and why?
I have been online blogging since 2002 ish. Wow. That is crazy. That was back when AIM/Yahoo messenger, Greatest Journal, and Live Journal were my main online activities. I started taking photos in 2004 ish and posting them. I'm sure they were awful photos. Haha. I used to make icons for LiveJournal. I can't access any of my old accounts. LiveJournal purged a lot. :( I bet I was so whiny and annoying to read back then. Oi.
2. Have you had any past online presence?
Yes, Livejournal, another journal site before that called GreatestJournal, Blogger, AOL/AIM, AllPoetry, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and SO MUCH more.
3. When did you become serious about your blog?
I would say 2011. After I had this blog for a year I started trying to get readers and have better content. I''m still working on it. I still feel like I don't have any daily readers. (Say HI some time, if you're here! ;)) Give me your blog link! I'll visit you and comment! I need more blogger friends.
4. What was your first blog post?
It was an introduction on who I am. It was in August 2010. I was 39 weeks pregnant with Brayden.
5. What have been your biggest challenges blogging?
Coming up with things to say and things to post. It's easy for me to take photos. It's hard for me to come up with a ton of words to draw in my readers. I'm always afraid I have said too much or too little.
6. What is the most rewarding thing about blogging?
I love that I am able to look back at a certain day, a certain memory. I can look at my kids growing in a way I may not see everyday with them.
7. What is the most discouraging thing about blogging?
I feel discouraged when I compare my blog to other people's blogs, especially their stats. I feel like I've tried to work at building my viewers but it hasn't exactly worked. :/
8. What is your lasting inspiration or motivation?
My family.
9. What is your blogging dirty little secret?
I don't think I have one. It's hard for me to find ways to connect to my readers, I think. I ask my readers questions on here, twitter, facebook and literally get zero responses. :( I guess my secret is I wish I knew what would draw people in. I'm not sure what exactly draws me in on other's blogs.
10. What is your current goal as a blogger?
My biggest goal right now is to have better content, let everyone get to know us a LITTLE better.
11. Have you learned or become passionate about anything through blogging that caught you by surprise?
Absolutely. I would say photography. My photos years ago were... uhh... SO AWFUL.... I think they have vastly improved and some times even look amazing to me.
